And now a little consolation for us all in the final week of our biggest loser challenge:

Summertime

The past week has been pretty busy. We went to the Post Stampede Days with Mom and Dad and Shelby had fun walking around and eating homeade ice cream. Her PaPa bought her a tiny little painting of three horses for her room and she loves it. I can't get her to leave it in her room though. Peyton is getting so big so fast that I can't stand it. She smiles everytime you look at her and it is the best big silly toothless grin in the whole world. We've been to see "Fly Me To The Moon" at the Omni Theater and spent a day playing at the park with Vanessa and Danette and kids. The girls and I went to the Clovis Arenacross with Sven and Shelby got to go to the TNT races all by herself with her dad. She thought she was just the coolest thing ever. Here are a few pics of Shelby helping wash bikes at the shop and of her cool racer daddy. With Shayla and Jesslyn and Vanessa's kids all getting ready for school it feels like summer is coming to an end and I feel like I need to do some good summertime thing every day to just soak it all up before the cold winds start blowing.

Camping in Colorado

Camping at the cabin. What fun, Shelby had an absolute blast. Peyton slept really good, especially when I would put her in her little sling/pouch and go for rides on the 4-wheeler to check the cows. Shelby would then put her baby doll inside her woobie wrap it around herself and then zip it up in her jacket and we would have to take her doll "Sally" on the 4-wheeler too. Shelby also got to fish and throw rocks in the river which was so fun she even would have to do it at night in her pjs before going to bed. Tysen and Danette and some of Danette's brother's and sister's families came up one night to fish and the kids had a little hot dog cookout. Shelby cooked her own hot dog which entailed dragging it through the dirt and letting it sit in the ashes. It was completely black when she was done and she sat down on the steps of the cabin with a plate, dipped it in ketchup, and ate the entire thing. That camping works up an appetite!

BIG NEWS

Well we have had a pretty big couple of days around here I mean BIG like huge major milestone accomplishments in the Roberts household. Yes it has happened I cannot slow down their progression any further:
Peyton has rolled over. Here are the pictures to prove it. Also Shelby has pee peed in the potty. I won't subject her or you to pictures of that.

Ok so it's not a diploma from Harvard and yes I feel a bit ridiculous that I actually do get so excited about these little things but I do and I admit it and there is nothing I can do about it but accept that this is what my life has come to. Isn't it GREAT!

The Watermelon Piglets

Look at these little cuties on the 4th of July my sister Mikasa took these at my Mom's house. I love them because they are timeless as in they could have been taken of kids 50 years ago or yesterday.

Shelby's Birthday Party

So since I'm a new blogger I'm going to do a few posts to update on the past month. These are pictures from Shelby's 2nd Birthday party. The highlights had to be either when it started raining so we had to cut the horse rides short, cancel the campfire cookout and move the party inside, or when we all started singing Happy Birthday and Shelby started crying. But my very favorite part was that I had to give in to peer pressure from Mikasa and Danette that I could be Betty Crocker and if any of you think it would be a good idea to make cupcakes that look like barn animals and a barn for a cake because it looks easy in the magazine, DON'T DO IT. These little cakes represent 8 hours of my life that I will never get back. Never. So basically for her birthday we got her a bike which she loved, a cake she really probably didn't care about, and 8 hours of being neglected while I made the stupid thing. Next year I'll make a little phone call to the bakery, pick up the cake and actually spend some time with her on her birthday.

And another thing it's intimidating enough to write anything that my big brother the "Published" author might read but then he has to go and leave a comment like the one on the kidS post and make me laugh and cry and reminisce about the good old days and just when I was feeling like I might actually be witty enough to write something interesting here he has to show me up on my own blog! I do like to get comments though at least then I know I'm not just babbling to myself. Of course you know it's easy to comment on other people's blogs but when Ky has the guts to actually step it up and start his own blog then he can talk.

OK so I started a blog

I hereby officially eat all of my words of making fun of Mikasa for doing so. I have no idea what I will rant about on here but probably just how cute my kids are like everyone else does and what better subject is there anyways.

My Beautiful Girls Peyton is 2 weeks old in these pictures and Shelby is just one month short of her 2nd Birthday. I can't believe I now have "KIDS". I was always the one who nobody thought would ever have even one and now I have two. In my wildest dreams I would have never dared to think I would one day have two little girls. I feel so lucky, so blessed, and most of the time so unworthy. I can't imagine what life would be like without these two. In these pictures I'd only had Peyton for two weeks and already I can't remember life without her.
